Answering Your Questions About Chiropractic Care

+ What conditions do Chiropractors treat?

Chiropractors are especially well known for their expertise in caring for patients with back pain, neck pain and headaches. In additional to spinal complaints, chiropractic manipulations offer effective care and treatment for conditions of the feet, knees, hips, wrists, elbows, shoulders, and jaw. Dr. Carly specializes in hard to treat conditions such as plantar fasciitis, carpal tunnel, shoulder impingement, tennis elbow, TMD, as well as knee and hip pain.

+ Is Chiropractic Safe?

Chiropractic is widely recognized as a safe and effective non-invasive, drug free therapy available for the treatment of biomechanical, and neuromuscular issues. Many patients feel immediate relief following chiropractic treatment; however, some may experience mild soreness, stiffness or aching, just as they might after some forms of exercise. Current research shows that minor discomfort or soreness following spinal manipulation typically fades within 24 hours.

+ Is Chiropractic treatment suitable for Children?

Absolutely. Children are very physically active and may experience many types of falls and injuries from participating in sports and the tumble of daily activity. Injuries such as these may cause many symptoms including back and neck pain, stiffness, soreness or discomfort. Chiropractic care is easily adapted to the individual patient and in the case of children, this approach is very gentle. Dr. Carly has pursued additional training in pediatric adjustment to ensure safe and effective treatments for all patients no matter their age.

+ Will you take an X-ray?

Taking X-rays is not a part of our routine physical exam. In rare cases, when advanced imaging is deemed necessary to determine the course of your care ( e.g. a suspected broken bone or torn ligament), you will be referred to a specialist for an X-ray or MRI as directed by your doctor.

+ What's that popping sound when I'm adjusted?

Adjustment of a joint may result in the creation and release of a gas bubble between the joints. This is what creates that popping sound! The noise is caused by the change of pressure within the joint, which results in gas bubbles being released and popping.

+ How much does an adjustment cost?

At each visit you will receive hands on full-body assessment from the doctor, manipulations of full spine and extremities (as necessary), soft tissue manipulation, and easy to do at home exercises specified to your needs. All of this is provided for just $75 a visit!
